The Birla Mandir in Bhopal (Lakshmi Narayan Temple) was built by the Birla family, inaugurated in 1964, and dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, offering stunning views from Arera Hills and housing a museum with ancient sculptures. Its construction fulfilled a desire for grand temples in a city historically under Islamic rule, using modern techniques but adhering to Nagara style, with intricate carvings and shrines to other deities like Shiva and Durga
Bhojtal, also known as Upper Lake, is a large lake which lies on the western side of the capital city of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, India. It is a major source of drinking water for the residents of the city, serving around 40% of the residents with nearly 30 million imperial gallons (140,000 m3) of water per day.

The Bhojpur Shiv Mandir (Bhojeshwar Temple) in Madhya Pradesh is an unfinished 11th-century marvel built by Paramara King Raja Bhoj, famous for its massive, monolithic 7.5-foot-tall Shiva Lingam and unique, grand architecture reflecting Bhoj's engineering prowess, though its construction ceased, leaving behind impressive scale and architectural elements like massive stone blocks hauled by ramps.
The Great Stupa at Sanchi is one of the oldest stone structures in India, and an important monument to the historical architecture of India. [1] It was originally commissioned by the Mauryan emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE. Its nucleus was a simple hemispherical brick structure built over the relics of the Buddha. It was crowned by the chatra, a parasol-like structure symbolising high rank, which was intended to honour and shelter the relics. The original construction work of this stupa was overseen by Ashoka, whose wife Devi was the daughter of a merchant of nearby Vidisha.
The Udayagiri Caves feature some of the oldest Hindu images and cave temples in India. They are located near the city of Vidisha, northeast of Bhopal in the state of Madhya Pradesh, around 14km from the Buddhist site at Sanchi. One of India's most important archaeological sites from the Gupta period, the Udayagiri hills and its caves are an archaeological site under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The site has important inscriptions of the Gupta dynasty belonging to the reigns of Chandragupta II (c. 375-415) and Kumaragupta I (c. 415-55).
Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the Raisen and Sehore districts of Madhya Pradesh, India, is a newly declared tiger reserve (as of 2024) and the state's 8th, spanning over 823-1271 sq km. Known for its rich biodiversity, including tigers, leopards, and sloth bears, it features dry/moist deciduous forests, the Bhimbetka rock shelters, and scenic water bodies.
